What Oz does, what it promises, and what it doesn't

A reference for your team and a source of ready-to-send text for prospects and clients. Every statement here matches what the platform actually does today. If a prospect asks for something this page says we don't do, don't promise it.

Oz does it Oz does it on request Not part of Oz Rep-only note, not for clients

How it works

The same five steps for every client site, in this order.

  1. Connect the dataAn Oz account manager connects Google Analytics 4, Search Console, Google Business Profile, Bing Webmaster Tools and Microsoft Clarity. Accounts that don't exist are created, with the client added as admin so the client owns them. Claiming a Business Profile needs the business owner present.
  2. One dashboard, under your brandAll five sources in one plain-English dashboard with your logo, name and color. The client never sees an Oz price.
  3. Audit every monthOn Site Auditor and Site Adjuster, the site is audited monthly: up to 25 pages (120 with the Deep Audit add-on), 30 checks across six areas, graded 0 to 100, with an AI search readiness score.
  4. A written plan in priority orderEvery finding comes with a plain-English fix. Critical issues come first, and the work is paced across a monthly plan so every area moves each month.
  5. Apply the SEO fixes and prove itOn Site Adjuster, approved SEO fixes are published to the WordPress site, every change is logged with its page and date, and a re-scan confirms each one is live. Everything else lands on a "What needs you" list.

What each plan adds

Each plan includes everything in the one before it. Every plan includes full setup of all five data sources and an account manager.

What Oz applies, and what needs a person

Oz publishes through its WordPress plugin, which works alongside Yoast, Rank Math or All in One SEO, or on its own. It reaches the SEO layer of the site and nothing else.

Oz applies (Site Adjuster)
  • Meta titles and descriptions
  • Schema markup, including business and FAQ markup where Oz wrote it
  • Image alt text
  • Open Graph and Twitter share cards
  • The same on category, tag and listing pages WordPress generates
Oz does on request
  • Replacing broken links, or links still pointing at an old domain, demo or staging site
  • Switching insecure http:// links to https
  • Adding missing image size attributes the theme leaves out

Done by your account manager once you confirm which change you want. Each can be undone.

Needs a person
  • Writing or rewriting page copy, blog posts or new pages
  • Headings and page structure
  • Internal linking between pages
  • Site speed, hosting, scripts and server settings
  • Design and layout changes

Each item comes with a written fix. Content and developer tasks download separately as Word or markdown files to hand on.

Two rules to repeat to clients. Nothing is published until someone approves it and clicks Apply. Oz never changes the words on a page.

What we can promise, and what we can't

Oz promises the work and the proof of the work. It cannot promise results that depend on search engines, competitors and the site's content.

We can promise
  • All five data sources connected and working, with the client as owner
  • A full audit every month, on the same checks, so months compare
  • A written, plain-English fix for every finding
  • On Site Adjuster, approved SEO fixes published and logged with page and date
  • A re-scan that confirms each fix is actually live
  • A monthly report and score charts that show what moved
  • A second score that grades only Oz's side of the work, so you can hold us to it
  • A US-based account manager who replies within two business days
We can't promise
  • Higher rankings or a particular position
  • More traffic
  • More calls, leads, form fills or sales
  • Being cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI answers
  • More Google reviews
  • Any result by a set date
  • That the audit grade rises if "What needs you" items are left undone
Rep-only note. A fair expectation to set: a sound SEO and AEO plan usually needs about three months to move the grade noticeably. Say "usually", never "will".

Common assumptions, corrected

What agencies and their clients most often assume, and what is actually true.

AssumedOz writes blog posts and new page content.
ActuallyNo plan includes content writing. Oz tells you what content is missing and why. Writing it is a separate retainer, below.
AssumedOz fixes everything the audit finds.
ActuallyOz applies the SEO-layer fixes it writes. Content, structure, speed and design findings are written up for a person to do.
AssumedOz can publish fixes to any website.
ActuallyPublishing works on WordPress only. On Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow or a custom build, use Site Auditor: every fix is written out ready to paste in.
AssumedOz manages the Google Business Profile.
ActuallyOz reads the profile's data and charts the review count. It does not post updates, reply to reviews or edit the listing.
AssumedOz runs or optimizes Google Ads.
ActuallyThe Google Ads add-on reports spend, leads and cost per lead next to organic data. It never changes a campaign.
AssumedOz builds backlinks or does outreach.
ActuallyNo. Oz works on the site itself.
AssumedOz changes things on the site automatically.
ActuallyOnly after approval, and only the SEO fixes listed above. Every change is logged.
AssumedA good audit grade means more business.
ActuallyThe grade measures the site's SEO and AI search health. It is a leading indicator, not a sales figure.

Content writing and editing: an optional retainer

Content is the biggest item Oz leaves to a person. When a client needs it done, it can be provided as a separate monthly retainer, outside the Oz platform.

What the retainer covers
  • New service and location pages
  • Blog posts and articles
  • Rewriting thin or overlapping pages flagged by the audit
  • Question-and-answer sections that help with AI search
  • Heading and structure edits that go with the rewrites
How it works
  • Separate from every Oz plan, and billed separately
  • Quoted per client, based on the volume of work
  • Guided by the audit's own content findings, so it targets what the grade is missing
  • Developer work (speed, scripts, layout) can be quoted the same way
Rep-only note. Ask your Oz account manager for a quote. It runs behind your brand like everything else: you sell it to your client, we do the work.

After the first four to six months: why a client stays

The question agencies hear most. The honest answer: the first months fix what is already there, and the months after keep it fixed, cover what is new, and prove it. The value changes from repair to upkeep and proof.

How the plan works. A site that scores 74 or below on its first audit gets a six-month plan; 75 or above gets four. The fixes are spread across those months, critical issues first. The plan runs longer on its own when new findings keep arriving faster than it can take them. When it ends, the monthly audit does not.
What keeps happening every month
  • New pages get the same treatment. Every new page, post or product needs a title, description, schema and alt text. The monthly audit finds them, writes them, and on Site Adjuster publishes them.
  • Fixes that get undone are caught. A theme update, a plugin, a page builder or a staff member can overwrite work already done. The re-scan marks it as regressed and puts it back on the plan.
  • Larger sites keep getting covered. Each audit reads 15 core pages plus 10 that rotate through the rest of the site, so a site bigger than 25 pages keeps surfacing pages that have not been checked yet.
  • Search keeps changing. The AI search readiness checks and the rest of the audit are kept current, and any change in how Oz measures is recorded so months stay comparable.
What the agency keeps getting
  • The monthly answer to "what did you do?" The branded report, the score charts and the dated change log keep arriving without anyone writing them. That is the retainer's proof of work.
  • An early warning. A drop in the grade, a disconnected data source or a stale reading shows up before the client notices it.
  • The data, in one place. The five-source dashboard and, on Growth Insights and up, the analyst report every two weeks.
  • A measure for the next project. Content work, a redesign or a site migration can be checked against a baseline that already exists.
Step down, don't drop
  • With no minimum term, a site can move to a lower plan any month.
  • Site Auditor keeps the monthly audit, the report and the written fixes, without publishing them.
  • Growth Insights keeps the dashboard and the bi-weekly analyst report, with no audit.
  • Oz Analytics keeps the five-source dashboard and the review count trend.
Don't promise
  • That the grade keeps climbing. After the plan it usually holds rather than rises, and holding it is the job.
  • That later months will show as much change as the first ones. Most of the visible movement is front-loaded.
  • Further gains from Oz alone. What lifts a well-maintained site further is usually new content, which is the retainer above.
Rep-only note. The strongest retention pairing is Oz plus the content retainer: Oz keeps the technical side clean and measured, the retainer adds the pages that move the grade and the traffic, and the monthly report shows both.

"How do I retain a client whose score is 98 to 100?"

The way this question usually arrives. It assumes a top score means the work is finished. It means the site has stopped losing to its own problems. What is left is keeping it there and growing past it.

What the number means. The grade says how well the pages Oz has read pass its 30 checks for SEO and AI search health. It is not a ranking, a traffic figure or a sales figure. A site can score 100 and still lose to a competitor with more and better content.
Why a top score doesn't hold on its own
  • Some checks are re-judged every month. Content depth, topical completeness, direct answers to common questions and content freshness are read again on every audit. Pages that stop being updated start to slip.
  • The business details have to keep matching. One check compares the site's business markup with the Google Business Profile. Change the hours, phone number or address in one place and not the other, and it fails.
  • New pages arrive unfinished. Every new page or post starts without its title, description, schema and alt text until the next audit finds it.
  • Updates undo work. Theme, plugin and page builder updates overwrite fixes. The re-scan catches it and puts the fix back on the plan.
  • Not every page has been read yet. On a site over 25 pages, rotation keeps bringing in pages that have not been checked.
The goal moves, so the pitch moves
  • From the grade to the numbers behind it. Search Console clicks and impressions, GA4 conversions, Business Profile calls and the review count are all on the dashboard. Oz reports them; it does not promise them.
  • From fixing to growing. With the foundation clean, new service and location pages, question-and-answer content and fresher copy are what move those numbers. That is the content retainer, and Oz measures what it changes.
  • From proof of repair to proof of upkeep. "Still at 99, and here is everything we did to keep it there" is a monthly report a client renews on.
Right-size the plan
  • A site holding 98 to 100 may not need publishing every month. Site Auditor keeps the audit, the report and the written fixes at a lower rate.
  • Offering the step-down before the client asks keeps the site on Oz, and keeps the trust.
  • With no minimum term, a site can move plans in any month.
Don't say
  • "There's nothing left to do." There is, it is just upkeep.
  • "A perfect score means you'll rank." It does not.
  • "We'll get you from 98 to 100." The last points are rarely worth chasing on their own.
Rep-only note. Churn usually starts when a client pays for a level of work they can no longer see. A site at the top of the grade is the moment to either add the content retainer or step the plan down, not to leave it unchanged.

What we do every monthShort overview for a prospect

Here is what our SEO and AI search service includes each month.

We start by connecting your Google Analytics, Search Console, Google Business Profile, Bing Webmaster Tools and Microsoft Clarity, creating any accounts you don't have yet in your name. You get one dashboard that brings all of it together in plain English.

Every month we audit your site against the same 30 checks, grade it from 0 to 100, and score how ready it is for AI search tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI answers. Every issue comes with a written fix, and we work through them in priority order on a monthly plan.

You receive a monthly report showing your grade, what we found, what we changed and how your scores are trending.

What we handle directly on your siteFor WordPress sites on Site Adjuster

On your WordPress site, we publish the SEO fixes ourselves: page titles and meta descriptions, schema markup, image alt text, and the preview cards that appear when your pages are shared. That includes the category and listing pages WordPress creates automatically.

Nothing goes live until it has been approved, and we never change the words on your pages. Every change is logged with the page and the date, and we re-scan the site to confirm each one is live.

What needs you or your developerSetting expectations on the rest

Some of what an audit finds can't be fixed from the SEO side alone. Page copy, headings and page structure, internal links between pages, site speed and hosting all need a writer or a developer.

For each of those, we give you a clear written fix and a separate list for your writer and your developer, so nobody has to sort through someone else's tasks. If you'd rather we handle them, we can quote the work.

What we can and can't promiseUse before a prospect signs

We want to be upfront about what we can promise.

We can promise the work and the proof of it: your data connected and in your name, a full audit every month, a written fix for every issue, the SEO fixes applied and logged, and a monthly report that shows exactly what changed.

What we can't promise is a specific ranking, a set amount of traffic, more leads or sales, or being cited by AI search tools by a certain date. Those depend on search engines, your competitors and your content, and nobody can honestly guarantee them. What we can tell you is that a sound SEO plan usually takes around three months to show clear movement, and you will see every step of it in your reports.

Content writing, as an add-onOffering the optional retainer

Our monthly SEO service doesn't include writing new content. When your audit shows content is what's holding the site back, such as thin pages, missing service or location pages, or no clear answers for common questions, we offer content writing and editing as a separate monthly retainer.

It is quoted based on how much content you need, and it is guided by your audit, so every page we write targets something the audit found. Just let us know if you'd like a quote.

Why we keep going after the first few monthsFor a client asking whether to continue

The first few months were about fixing what was already on your site, and that is where most of the visible change happens. From here, the work shifts to keeping it fixed and covering what is new.

Every month we still audit the site. New pages and posts get their titles, descriptions, schema markup and image alt text. Anything that gets undone by a theme or plugin update, or an edit on your end, is caught and put back on the plan. If your site is larger than what one month's audit covers, we keep working through pages that haven't been checked yet, and we keep up with changes in how search and AI tools read your site.

You also keep the monthly report, so you can see your scores holding and every change we made, and you'll know early if something slips. If the time comes to grow further, the next step is usually new content, and we can help with that too.

Your site scores near 100. What now?For a client at the top of the grade

Your site now scores [98] out of 100 on our monthly audit, which means it is in excellent technical shape for search and for AI tools. That score is a foundation rather than a finish line, and it doesn't hold on its own.

Several of the checks are judged fresh every month, including how complete and current your content is and whether your business details still match your Google Business Profile. New pages arrive without their search details, and theme or plugin updates can quietly undo earlier work. Our monthly audit catches all of that, and your report shows the score holding and everything we did to keep it there.

With the foundation in place, the next gains come from growth rather than repairs: new service or location pages, answers to the questions your customers ask, and keeping existing pages current. We track the results in your search clicks, calls and reviews. If you'd like, we can put together a plan and a quote for that next step.

If the site isn't on WordPressShopify, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow or custom

Because your site runs on [platform], we can't publish changes to it directly. You still get the full monthly audit, the grade, the plan and every fix written out word for word, including page titles, descriptions, schema markup and image alt text, ready for you or your developer to paste in. We confirm each fix on the next scan once it's live.
